For the 121 DEIS Plus schools · September 2026 rollout

DEIS Plus funds people. Skilly gives them the structure.

The 25 March announcement put a Positive Mental Health & Wellbeing Coordinator into every one of 121 DEIS Plus schools, expanded HSCL to 130 additional rural DEIS and non-DEIS schools, and added 25 wellbeing practitioners and counselling support across the strategy. Skilly is the digital structure, content and evidence base those new roles need to improve attendance, strengthen parent connection, support wellbeing and prove impact — without replacing the people the State just hired.

The Skilly DEIS Plus Support Pack

Four pillars. One platform. Built around the people DEIS Plus just hired.

Each pillar maps to shipped Skilly capability and the named role it makes effective. Skilly is the digital framework around the HSCL, the Wellbeing Coordinator and the school leader — not a replacement for any of them.

1. Attendance & Belonging

Supports HSCL coordinators · year heads

Student reflection modules on belonging, motivation, morning routines, anxiety about school, friendship, asking for help. Per-class engagement reports flag the year-group dip before the register catches it. Attendance isn't an admin problem — it's a belonging problem, and the evidence lives here.

2. Parent Connection

Supports HSCL coordinators

Weekly parent digest in English or Irish — mood trend, reflections submitted, teacher praise (risk-keyword filtered, no raw reflection text). Workshop and coffee-morning follow-up logged as Partnership evidence. Schedule per-school, opt-out per-parent, bounce-tracked, unsubscribe-token honoured.

3. Wellbeing & Student Voice

Supports Positive Mental Health & Wellbeing Coordinators

Six-indicator WBI dashboard (Active · Resilient · Connected · Aware · Respected · Responsible). Daily mood pulse, weekly reflections, exemplar Level-4 answers, simplify-language and read-aloud for inclusion. Bilingual mode for EAL newcomers — the task and feedback in their home language, while scoring and safeguarding run on what they actually wrote. Wellbeing education and early reflection — not screening, not diagnosis.

4. Evidence & Impact Reporting

Supports school leadership · Board reporting

AI School Summary writes the headline. DEIS Plan Tracker maps live evidence to the Department's themes verbatim (Literacy · Numeracy · Attendance · Retention · Transitions · Partnership · Examination Attainment). SSE Evidence Pack auto-builds. Termly DEIS Plus Term Report exports as a single PDF.

Three roles · one digital framework

Skilly complements the people DEIS Plus just hired — it doesn't replace them.

HSCL coordinator

The trust, the contact, the home visit, the WhatsApp message.

Skilly gives HSCL coordinators the content and structure that makes parent contact stick: reflection prompts for pupils about routines and belonging, parent digests in English or Irish, evidence of workshop follow-up, and a clean log of referrals against the Partnership with Parents and Communities theme.

Positive Wellbeing Coordinator

The wellbeing programme, the universal prevention, the targeted support.

Skilly is the structured wellbeing programme this role arrives needing to deliver: NCCA-aligned reflection modules, mood pulse, WBI dashboard for whole-school view, exemplar answers, year-group reporting. Wellbeing education and early reflection — not a clinical tool.

Principal & Leadership

The annual review, the Board pack, the inspection folder.

Skilly generates the evidence the Implementation Plan 2026–2028 cycle asks for: AI School Summary as the weekly headline, DEIS Plan Tracker against the Department's seven themes verbatim, SSE Evidence Pack, JC Profile continuous capture, 400-hour Wellbeing Hours tracker, and a termly DEIS Plus report bundled as a single PDF.

Skilly does not replace counselling, NEPS, the HSCL home visit or the wellbeing coordinator's clinical judgement. It is the digital structure those professionals use to deliver, track and evidence their work.

📑 Termly DEIS Plus Term Report

One PDF per term · already shaped for the Implementation Plan review.

Schools using DEIS Plus funding will be asked to defend it term-on-term. Skilly bundles the evidence into a single downloadable PDF every term — structured by the four pillars above, with each section mapped to the Department's DEIS theme language verbatim:

  • Number of pupils engaged + reflections submitted by year group
  • Attendance & Belonging reflection trends — soft drivers, by class
  • Parent digests delivered, opt-ins, bounce rate
  • HSCL referrals logged + Partnership theme evidence
  • Wellbeing pulse highlights + emerging themes (AI)
  • DEIS Plan Tracker targets — read against current evidence
  • Wellbeing Hours total against the JC 400-hour requirement
  • JC Profile completion rates for the year cohort

Generated, not assembled. Coordinator hits one button per term.

Pricing

DEIS schools: −5% on the licence. Stackable with a 3-year term for −15% combined.

Per-pupil rate by school size: €22.50 (under 100), €20 (100–300), €15 (301–600), €13.50 (601+) — pro-rated smoothly between anchors. EU-hosted data is a flat €0.50/pupil on top. DEIS schools take an extra −5% off the licence. Same rate whether you take one product or all four.

Digital teaching & learning resource

A complete, NCCA-aligned digital book — not a SaaS subscription.

The Skilly licence supplies a full curriculum-aligned teaching and learning resource: NCCA Junior Cycle SPHE (2023) and Senior Cycle SPHE (2024) learning outcomes, ADRA-structured lesson plans, pupil reflection prompts, teacher discussion prompts, assessment briefs for JC CBA and SC Key Assignments, plus the companion strands — Being Ethos, Being Digital Literacy, An Cineáltas anti-bullying, and Skilly Extra study skills. Exportable as PDF, Word and PowerPoint per lesson.

📚 0% VAT — book rate

Schedule 2 of the VAT Consolidation Act 2010 applies the zero rate to printed books; Revenue's published guidance extends the same treatment to e-books and digital publications that are, in essence, books. Schools confirm the line with their own tax adviser.

🎒 Free Schoolbooks Scheme

The Department's Free Schoolbooks Scheme funds books and classroom resources, including digital resources. Schools commonly include Skilly under the digital-resources line of their per-pupil scheme spend.

Full description in our Terms § 4.5. Each school's VAT treatment and scheme eligibility remains the school's call — we provide the supporting description on the Order Form on request.

You have the people. Now build the structure.

Skilly costs less than the textbooks, evidences more, and gives your new HSCL coordinator, Wellbeing Coordinator and leadership team a single platform on day one.

Not a DEIS Plus school? The DEIS Strategy to 2035 extends wellbeing focus across all 1,200 DEIS schools and the wider mainstream cohort too. Skilly is the same platform — same demo, same quote. The DEIS Plus discount stacks for any DEIS school with 3+ year groups on the platform.
